Christmas Activities

The Shady Hills UMC Family Center sponsors several programs through the Christmas season. Here is a list of the activities for this year. For more information about any of these, please contact the Shady Hills UMC Family Center.

2nd Annual Decorating Contest

Decorate your place for Christmas and enter our decoration contest. Judging will be on December 5, 2008. To enter, use this entry form. Print the form, fill it out, and send it to the Shady Hills UMC Family Center by November 26, 2008.

13th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

On December 5, 2008, at 7:00 PM, the Shady Hills Community lights our Christmas Tree in the Park. Drinks, caroling, Christmas Cheer. Bring a non-breakable ornament to help decorate our tree. See you there!

Annual Christmas Parade

The Shady Hills Community Christmas Parade will be on Saturday, December 6, 2008 (the day after the Christmas Tree Lighting), beginning a Noon. To participate, please use this form. Print it, fill it out and send it to the Shady Hills UMC Family Center. The parade will form up at Crews Lake Middle School on Shady Hills Road (Note that this is different from previous years). Enter from Shady Hills Road and follow the directions to your spot. We ask that you not have any "Santa" on your float. If you unit includes horses, then you must also provide your own pooper-scooper.

Craft Show in the Park

The Christmas Craft Show is Saturday, December 6, 2008 (the same day as the parade), from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. To participate, please use this form. Print the form, fill it out, and send it to the Shady Hills UMC Family Center.

Christmas Basket Distribution

The Shady Hills UMC Family Center will once again sponsor a "Christmas Basket Distribution". We are accepting donations at the Family Center. Please donate canned goods, non-perishable items, dry goods and gifts for children of all ages. Gifts should be new and unwrapped. If you family needs a basket, please use this form. Print it, fill it out, and return it to the Shady Hills UMC Family Center no later than December 10, 2008. We will notify you if you are receiving a basket, so we need your contact number to reach you.

Christmas baskets will be distributed on December 19, 2008, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. No baskets will be given out before or after this date and time. Once again, you must turn in your basket request no later than December 10, 208. For more information, please contact Elsie Logan at (727) 856-2948, extension 5.
